Do you like to read?
Have you ever wanted to read to a dog or a cat?
Well now you can!
WHAT: York Adopt a Pet Read To Rescue. Come read to a Dog OR a Cat ( you must choose one animal or the other). You can bring your own book and books will be available to borrow.
WHY: Did you know that reading to a cat or a dog helps them feel calm and happy around humans? Everyone at York Adopt A Pet wants every rescued animal to be adopted to a forever home where they are loved and cared for. When cats and dogs are calm and happy that increases their chances of getting adopted! This program will allow you to comfortably practice your reading skills while spending time with a cat or dog who needs care and love.
WHO: Kids ages 4-18 who are accompanied by a parent or guardian. A parent/guardian must sign the child up and be present with the child throughout reading time.
WHERE: At York Adopt a Pet, 1511 N. Platte Ave.
WHEN: Sunday, March 31, 2019 from 1:00 to 1:50 pm and 2:00 to 2:50 pm.
A brief orientation will start at 1:00 and 2:00, everyone who signed up will be required to attend before being able to read to a cat or a dog.
